Fantastic 2 bay Ladderax modular shelving system. Created by Robert Heal in 1964 for Staples of Cricklewood, London.

Is a modular shelving and storage system created by Robert Heal in 1964 for Staples of Cricklewood, London and is an excellent example of mid-century modern design. Heal was influenced by the work of the "Danish school". This mid-century Scandinavian design movement was largely about reinterpreting simple, linear shapes from Georgian and Shaker pieces, and making themstraighter. The Ladderax System consists of several upright ladders, supporting shelves and cabinets. These are fixed by resting on steel support rods, hooked on to the rungs of the ladders.

They fit into grooves under the shelves and cabinets. This allows easily assembly and flexibility. Ladderax does not require any permanent fixing to a wall, because it self-supports but support holes arethere if you wish to do so. 3 x Upright metal ladders in original black finish. 1 x storage cabinet (895mm wide) (470mm High)(355mm Deep) 1 wooden shelf.

1 x Open display cabinet (895mm wide) (470mm High)(355mm Deep) 1 glass shelf. 1 x Set of 3 drawers (895mm wide) (470mm High) (405mmDeep). 2 x Shelves (895mm wide) (355mm Deep). 10 x cabinet metal support brackets.

3 x Anti tip hooks. 2 x Drawer Support Clamps and screws. This entire set of units has been cleaned and re-polished throughout using Polyx natural wax finish which gives an excellent, very easy surface to touch up should you have any accidents. As with all period wood furniture we recommend the use of mats when placing items like cups, flower vases etc. The set is from the 1960/70sand will show sighs of age related wear. Overall the set is in excellent structural condition and the refinishing means this set looks fantastic. Despite there-finishing there may be some evidence of age related wear. The only point worth mentioning is a small amount of wear on the front top edge of the drawer section.
