Vintage Extending Dining Table - Retro Formica Mid Century Kitchen - Desk Office. A vintage extending dining table with a simple mid-century design, featuring a patterned Formica top, solid timber frame and a practical pull-out extension mechanism. Ideal as a kitchen, breakfast or dining table, extending easily to provide additional seating when required. Would also make a good desk or work surface.

Constructed with a solid hardwood frame, likely beech, with a durable Formica laminate top and extension leaves. The extension operates using a traditional pull-apart mechanism, with the side leaves storing neatly beneath the tabletop when not in use. Likely dating from the mid 20th century, around the 1950s-1960s. Unsure of the exact age, but more than happy to help with any further questions. In well used vintage condition.

Showing age and use with surface scratches, scuffs, knocks and general wear throughout. The timber frame has numerous marks, edge knocks and areas of finish wear, particularly around the apron and corners. The Formica top has scratches, stains, marks and some age-related discolouration consistent with regular use.

There are a few small chips and knocks to the timber edging around the top. The extension mechanism pulls out and operates as it should, with the side leaves storing beneath the table when not in use. The extension leaves sit well when in place, with some age-related variation between the surfaces. The table remains solid, sturdy and fully functional. Would benefit from a good clean and polish.
