Vintage St Clement French Revolution Bicentennial Apothecary Canister Jars Set 3

  
Set of Three Vintage Faïencerie de Saint-Clément Earthenware apothecary style kitchen jars. Made to commemorate the Bicentennial of the French Revolution spanning from 1789 to 1989. The artwork on the jars represents the famous national motto of France. The first cylindrical jar features the Phrygian liberty cap and patriotic ribbons to represent Liberté. The central footed pedestal urn jar features the scales of justice to represent Égalité. The final cylindrical jar features a Masonic style level balance and the RF monogram to represent Fraternité. With the lids on, the two cylindrical jars measure approximately 7 inches tall and the central urn jar measures approximately 6.5 inches tall. In keeping of the style of traditional 18th century French pharmacy pottery design, the lids feature a wide overhanging lip style that sits slightly large over the jar rims with a loose fit. This set is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. No maker's marks to bases, standard for this specific rare commemorative run.
