VINTAGE WOODEN WRITING DESK / KITCHEN DINING TABLE 1960 Ex MOD School / Factory

  

Original British made desk, manufactured in 1960. Air Ministry Desk-Table with original MOD marks, this fabulous desk is constructed from solid golden oak with two useful drawers and original top. This desk has come directly from Abbots Bromley school in Staffordshire.

This versatile piece makes an excellent vintage desk which would double up as a table when needed. Great quality piece, Lovely colour and grain to the wood, finished in solid oak throughout retaining all its patina from years of use. Secret section underneath for storing maps. Nicely finished to back so can be freestanding / reception desk. The legs detach if needed.

CONDITION overall is good for its age is good, there are of course the usual age related scratches and marks throughout. Slightly warped to front edge. 77 high x 153 wide x 91 deep. The older pieces of furniture are better made, normally by craftsmen and not machines, have more character & if looked after will last many years.

I also love much older pieces, if they are unusual, well made & a great design I will offer them for sale. I like to keep pieces as original as possible & will clean & re oil / wax. I convert some to'Hairpin leg' pieces if they have no legs / ugly legs or missing legs. I do NOT allow customers to arrange their own couier as I cannot accept responsibility for the item in transit.
