Solid Pine Vintage Style Tall Housekeepers Pantry Larder Cupboard. Originally of Eastern European origin. Heavy and well made piece with two cupboards, each with a single shelf inside as well as two drawers. The cupboards fronts have textured carved detailing and are complete with working locks and a key.
The original waxed finish has naturally worn and distressed in places which has in my opinion, added a lovely charm to the piece. If this isn't to your taste, it could easily be stripped or painted. The unit is strong and solid. It shows some expected signs of wear and use including some nibbling on the corners of the plinth at its base - caused by a naughty puppy! This could be lightly sanded back and refinished or filled with woodfiller etc. Great for extra storage anywhere in the house, I've been using both of them in one of our reception rooms, either side of the chimney breast and they look great. They would work great in a kitchen as a pantry or larder unit or in a bedroom as a linen press.201 cm h x 76 cm x 45 cm overall approx size.
